About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Tharunshrey AI Technologies ("we", "us"), which runs Roju. "You" means the person who creates the account. By creating an account or using Roju, you agree to these terms and to the privacy notice.
What Roju is, and what it isn't
Roju calls your parent every day, has a short conversation with her in her language, sends the family a summary, alerts you when something sounds wrong, plays your voice notes, and can order groceries and meals she asks for.
Roju is not a medical service and not an emergency service. It doesn't diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and it can't send an ambulance. It is no substitute for a doctor, a caregiver or emergency services. In an emergency in India, call 112 or 108.
- Roju uses AI to understand her and to write summaries. It can mishear, misunderstand or miss things. Treat summaries and alerts as helpful signals, not as medical facts.
- Calls depend on phone networks and on her phone being on. We can't promise that every call will connect, or that every alert will reach you instantly.
- Readings such as BP and sugar are what she reads out. Roju doesn't measure anything.
Who can use Roju
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must give us accurate information and keep it current: her phone number, her medicines, your emergency numbers and her local contact.
- You're responsible for your account and for the family members you invite.
Her agreement
You may only set up calls for a parent who agrees to them, or for whom you are the lawful guardian. You'll tell her about Roju before the first call, and be on that first call with her. Roju asks for her permission on that call. If she says no, or later asks it to stop, we stop calling her.
Free trial and plans
- 3-day free trial. No card is needed to start. When the trial ends, the calls stop unless you choose a plan. We don't charge you automatically.
- Plans. Prices are shown on rojuhome.com and in the app, in US dollars or Indian rupees. Plans are billed monthly in advance through Razorpay.
- Taxes. Taxes such as GST are added where the law requires and are shown before you pay.
- Price changes. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect. If you don't want the new price, you can cancel before it starts.
Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel at any time from the app or by replying STOP on WhatsApp. Calls stop from the next day.
- We don't refund the unused part of a month, except where the law requires it, or where Roju didn't work for reasons on our side. If that happens, write to us and we'll make it right.
- Pantry balance. Money you add for care-line orders belongs to you. We refund any unused balance to the original payment method within 14 days of your request.
- What happens to your data after you cancel is described in the privacy notice.
Groceries and meals
If you turn ordering on, Roju asks once per call whether she needs anything, reads the list back, and places the order only after she says yes.
- On your own delivery account (Zepto or Swiggy): you authorise Roju to place orders on your account, within the limits you set, to the address you choose. The purchase is between you and the delivery app, under its own terms and prices. Roju is not the seller.
- Through our care line: we buy the items on your behalf from a store, paid from your pantry balance. The store supplies the goods. If something is wrong with an order, tell us and we'll take it up with the store.
- Limits. Orders stay within the per-order and monthly limits you set, at most two a day. Anything over your limit waits for your approval.
- Never. Roju won't order medicines, alcohol or tobacco, even if asked.
- Prices, stock and delivery times come from the delivery app or store, and can change.
Voice notes
Your voice notes stay yours. You give us permission to store them and play them to your parent during her calls. Please don't record anything unlawful or anything that would distress her.
Using Roju fairly
- Don't use Roju to call anyone who hasn't agreed to it.
- Don't misuse alerts or the care line, or treat our team with abuse.
- Don't try to copy, reverse engineer, overload or break the service.
Changes to the service and these terms
We improve Roju all the time and may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that materially affects you, or change these terms, we'll tell you in advance by WhatsApp or email. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
Liability
We work hard to make Roju dependable, but we provide it "as is", within what the law allows.
- We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for things outside our reasonable control, such as phone network failures or a delivery app's mistakes.
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and under the consumer laws of your own country, stay in place.
Ending the service
You can stop at any time. We may end the service with 30 days' notice, or immediately if an account is used for serious misuse or fraud. If we end it without cause, we'll refund any fees paid for the time after it ends.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please write to our grievance officer first; most problems are fixed quickly that way. If we can't resolve it, the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction, and you can also approach a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
